Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Was great to see some of our parents and staff out at EdCamp35 on Saturday. Was a wonderful day of connecting, sharing and learning. 

Information To Share:

Professional Development Day: Reminder that this Friday, May 5th is a district-wide professional development day for staff. There is no school for students.

District SpeechFest: Congratulations to Alex Bergeron who came in third place in the entire district during SpeechFest last Friday!

LSS PAC Meeting: The next PAC meeting at Langley Secondary School is coming up on May 15th at 7:00. They will be holding votes for executive positions so anyone who’s child is going there next year and is interested should attend this meeting.

Garden Club: We have the Langley City Youth Council and the Mayor of Langley coming to fill the planters with dirt and plants on Monday from 3:30 – 6:30. We are excited to have our community garden project getting underway and would love any parents or community members to come and help out. 

Explorations Clubs – There are 4 new clubs starting May 2nd. Arts & Crafts, Drama, Musical Theatre and Baking. Please let your children know to sign up sheets at the office.

Class Placement For Next Year: As we begin the process of planning for next school year, we always want to give parents a voice in class placements. As you can imagine, the education professionals put a lot of thought into classroom composition. If you would like to pass along any information regarding this, please email the principal ( directly.

Summer Session: Registration for this year’s summer session opens April 10th. All necessary information and registration can be found by clicking here.

Red Cross Babysitting Course: So you want to be a babysitter? Or, your parents want you to take this course so they feel confident leaving you at home alone? Babysitting with First Aid Hero emphasizes learning through real life scenarios. information covered includes: Exploring the business of babysitting, creating safe environments, safely caring for ages 0-12, and first aid skills. Cost is $60.00 plus GST.  Click here to register. 

Athletics Schedule: We have a lot going on with regards to athletics so please click here each week to see the latest schedule.

PAC Update: Spring Fundraiser – Please keep an eye out for our Spring Fundraiser with DFS Canada. The catalogue will be going home with students next week. We are offering online and paper order forms.

The PAC earns 40% of all sales, so please take a look at the catalogue when your student(s) bring it home.  More info to come on deadlines and deliveries.
