New Information To Share:

 

Collaboration Day: This Wednesday is a Collaboration afternoon for staff. Students will be dismissed at 1:34.

PAC Meeting This Week: Just a reminder we have a PAC meeting this Wednesday at 6:30pm in the Library. All parents are welcome.

LSS Grade 9 Open House: Langley Secondary is holding an Open House/Course Planning night for families of students in grade 8 attending there next year on February 6th starting at 7:00. For an outline of the entire evening, please click here. 

Let’s Talk Trades Event: The District is hosting our annual “Let’s Talk Trades” Information evening on February 15, 2018 at Langley Events Centre. This will be an evening of information for Langley’s students and parents to:

  • discover the world of the skilled trades
  • build their knowledge of career technical skills training opportunities in our district,
  • benefit from learning about Langley’s Youth Apprenticeship program

Because this event has been extremely popular in the past, we have moved its location to the Langley Events Centre in order to accommodate greater numbers. You can click here for more information.

Langley Lions Breakfast and Fundraiser: The Langley Lions are making a free pancake breakfast for all students on March 8th. To fundraise for this event they are hosting a burger and beer night at Fox and Fiddle Thursday Feb.8th. Tickets are $25 and would go directly to our school pancake breakfast. Please connect with Mr Hendy (bhendy@sd35.bc.ca) if you would like tickets to attend.

Information From Last Week:

Healthy Hearts Aboriginal Gathering: This amazing community event is coming up on February 17th at HD Stafford Middle. Our entire community is invited to join us for this great event. Click on this link for more information: AHHG Flyer

Neon Dance: Our PAC is hosting a Neon Dance on February 22nd (the night before the Pro D Day). Tickets are $5.00 and will be available for sale at lunch on February 8th and 15th. If you are unable to afford a ticket, please talk to Mr. Davids or Ms Hayer. For more information, check out this flyer!

Theatre Sports Club: We are excited to be starting a Theatre Sports Club for any interested students. They will meet in theatre, Thursdays after school starting on February 1st. Please see Ms Ashcroft if you have any questions.

Grade 7 Fundraiser Night – Pub Night (March 10, 2018): Come and raise a glass at Murrayville Town Pub to help support Grade 7 Camp. This is no regular burger and beer pub night! Your ticket gets you a full roast beef dinner as well as one of a beer, wine or highball. Tickets are $25 or $45 for a pair. There will be a toonie toss, square board game, silent auction, raffle, lottery trees, and more! Come out and support the kids having a successful camp trip, and have a fun night! Doors open 5pm, dinner starts at 6pm. Grade 7 Fundraiser Night – Paint Nite (March 8, 2018): This will be held at Clayton Public House with artist Courtney Powell. You will have the opportunity to enjoy some drinks and food as you create your own version of the painting Surreal Beach. Tickets are $45 with $15 from each being donated to Grade 7 Camp. Parents/Community Volunteers: HD Stafford Middle school is looking for volunteers to help in a variety of ways. If you have interest in helping in our lunch program, reading to students, coaching, afterschool programs or event nights please contact our community school coordinator at bhendy@sd35.bc.ca
